The LMR (Long Mononucleotide Repeat) MSI Analysis System is a PCR-based DNA fragment sizing assay to detect microsatellite instability (MSI) in human cells. The analysis involves comparing allelic profiles of microsatellite markers generated by amplifying DNA from normal and tumor samples from the same individual. Fragment analysis of amplicons from a tumor sample that is DNA mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) will show fragment size changes in the allelic profile compared with the normal sample, indicating MSI.
